A demo is a chance to learn what you like. Set yourself a few repeatable tasks and record the result while the experience is fresh. The aim is to make a more informed choice, even if that means deciding you need another session.
Give each racket a fair comparison
Where practical, use the same court, partner and balls. Check the grip setup with the person running the demo and note any differences between the rackets. Give yourself time to settle into each one instead of judging everything on the first shot.
If you compare several rackets, try the first one again at the end. You may notice that warming up, tiredness or simply getting used to the drill has influenced your impressions.
Use a short sequence
- Begin with controlled rallies to a comfortable target.
- Try a few volleys with your partner feeding at a similar pace.
- Play a short sequence of serves and returns.
- Finish with points that reflect the way you normally play.
Choose shots you already know. Ask a coach to adapt the sequence to your level. This is a personal comparison exercise, not a laboratory measurement of a racket’s performance.
Write observations, not just scores
For each racket, note how it felt to hold, how easy it was to prepare for the next ball and which shots felt more or less predictable. Add a specific example beside each impression. “I felt late on three fast volleys” gives you something to discuss; a single overall score does not explain much.
Include the racket name, finish, grip setup and approximate session length. Keep any published specifications separate from what you personally felt.
Leave room for a second opinion
Talk through your notes with the demo organiser or coach. A different grip setup or another session may change your preference. You do not have to make a purchase decision on the spot.
Help shape the NORYX launch
We plan to evaluate our samples and gather player feedback before confirming the range. If you would like to hear about testing opportunities, select testing interest on the first access form. Programme details will follow when ready; registering does not guarantee a place.
